SYNRA, a Hiroshima University spinout, has joined the Future 40 2026 list at STATION F. It is the first Japanese startup selected for the Paris program. The list recognizes 40 companies from over 1,000 startups on campus, or the top 4%.
The Future 40 list
STATION F announced the cohort in November 2026. The 40 selected startups have raised €110 million together so far. Future 40 companies have raised €1.2 billion across eight editions.
Company origins
SYNRA was founded in September 2025 by Kohei Shimazaki, a Hiroshima University associate professor. Its technology comes from about eight years of research and more than 50 peer-reviewed papers. The company has run more than five paid projects and pilot deployments with two large chemical makers.
How VYBRA-EYE works
SYNRA launched VYBRA-EYE on November 4, 2026. The service uses standard industrial cameras or smartphones to measure thousands of vibration points without contact. It can inspect equipment from over 100 meters away without stopping lines or placing sensors.
SYNRA plans to use Paris as its European base and expand automotive, energy, and infrastructure partnerships. It will exhibit at CES 2027 in January and Global Industrie 2027 in March. The company is also accepting preorders for an iPhone version called VYBRA-EYE Scout.
