Berlin-based maritime technology startup Lazzaro One has raised a six-figure Pre-Seed round from B#, the pre-seed fund of IBB Ventures. The company builds software to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability in maritime operations. The funding will back its HUAX intelligence platform and commercial expansion.
Planned expansion
The fresh capital will fund the Berlin headquarters as the startup's main technology hub. The company also plans to open a Maritime Intelligence Desk in Naples. That desk will monitor activity across the Mediterranean region.
How HUAX works
HUAX analyzes technical and behavioral patterns in vessel activity. It identifies anomalies and explains why a ship is behaving unusually. The company says it can detect shadow fleets that manipulate tracking systems to evade sanctions.
Founding and customers
Lazzaro One was founded by Arsenio Longo and Maria Grazia Del Prete. The platform is designed for security authorities, shipping companies, and insurers. It also provides route forecasts and sea-state analyses to support planning and sustainability.
With the new funding, Lazzaro One plans to grow its development team and add specialized roles. It also aims to improve HUAX's data-processing capabilities. Longer term, it aims to expand in shipping, defense, maritime, and insurance.
