Wealthsimple, a Canadian platform for investing, trading, spending, and tax filing, agreed to raise up to CAD $425 million in equity. The post-money valuation is CAD $13.8 billion. GIC led the deal with existing backers Power Corporation of Canada, IGM Financial, ICONIQ, CPP Investments, and Inovia.
Round terms
The deal includes a primary offering of CAD $300 million. It also allows up to CAD $125 million in secondary share sales. Wealthsimple said the secondary portion gives employees a chance to share in value they helped create.
Company growth
Wealthsimple held $169.2 billion in assets under administration as of September 30, 2026. That compares with $100 billion at the time of its October 2025 raise. More than 4 million Canadians now use the platform.
Product momentum
The company has launched more than 50 new products in the past year. They include commission-free options trading, futures trading, and IPO Access. Wealthsimple also added kids and teen accounts and cash deposits at over 5,300 Canada Post locations.
Wealthsimple will announce upcoming releases at its fourth Wealthsimple Presents event on November 5. It also plans to invest in technology infrastructure. The capital will support expansion across business, everyday spending, checking, trading, and investment products.
