Enterprise Singapore and the Housing and Development Board launched three initiatives for built environment innovation. They announced the moves at SWITCH 2026. The package includes S$4 million in committed funding for a new call under HDB's Cool Ideas Enterprise program.

Demo day and shared lab

The inaugural Demo Day connected 13 enterprises with developers, contractors, and precasters. HDB also opened the 317 square meter BRIC Lab at its Centre of Building Research on October 28, 2026. The space supports companies in the Cool Ideas Enterprise and Cities of Tomorrow programs.

Call for proposals

The new call targets construction productivity, aging infrastructure, and heat resilience. Eligible enterprises can use the committed funds to develop their solutions. Promising ideas may be piloted in HDB housing projects.

Featured solutions

Envicom displayed an anti-condensation coating for indoor moisture. QPBuddy showed a digital platform for remote construction coordination and real-time test monitoring. Imerys presented SewperCoat, a protective coating for HDB refuse chutes.

Enterprise Singapore will connect promising startups and enterprises to HDB through the Cool Ideas Enterprise program. HDB will provide technical expertise and testing facilities at its shared lab. The partners plan to test and scale successful innovations across public housing projects.
