CHOSEN has raised an extension of its Series A round from Avnish Chhabria and Saurabh Kapoor, the founders of Wellbeing Nutrition. The Chennai-based skincare brand creates products for melanin-rich Indian skin. The fresh capital will support research and development, formulation expansion, and dermatological research.
Funding so far
CHOSEN announced a $5 million Series A led by Fireside Ventures in May. That round also included BOLD, L'Oréal's corporate venture fund, Alkemi Growth Capital, and other angel investors. The company had previously raised $1.2 million in an angel funding round in 2024.
Company background
CHOSEN was founded in 2020 by cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Renita Rajan. Its portfolio spans more than 50 products across skincare, haircare, body care, and nutraceuticals. The brand's products are prescribed by more than 2,000 doctors and sold through its website and online marketplaces.
Product plans
The company plans to establish a Centre of Excellence to involve dermatologists in product development. It also plans to expand its R&D, brand, and growth teams. CHOSEN Sculpt, launched in 2026, is described as India's first topical lower face contouring serum backed by a 12-week clinical study.
CHOSEN serves most serviceable pin codes across India. It also ships to international markets, including the US, UK, Australia, Canada, UAE, and Singapore. The brand competes with skincare companies like Avène, Heliocare, Cetaphil, Sebamed, and Dr. Sturm.
