Unify Foodworks has raised ₹50 million in seed funding through compulsorily convertible debentures. The company holds the exclusive pan-Indian master franchise rights for Moe's Casa Mexicana and Carvel. The capital will support expansion across the National Capital Region.
Expansion in Delhi NCR
The company plans to build store density across Delhi NCR, where both brands made their India debut. It also aims to strengthen consumer recall and refine its operating model in the region. NCR will serve as a testing ground for store economics and menu localization.
Company background
Unify Foodworks was launched in November 2024 by Sumer Sethi. It also holds the master franchise for Moe's Southwest Grill, the larger-format restaurant concept. Both brands are owned by Roark Capital, whose portfolio includes Subway, Baskin-Robbins, and Dunkin'.
What the brands offer
Moe's Casa Mexicana serves burritos, bowls, and tacos, alongside India-focused items such as Habanero Paneer. Carvel, an American ice cream brand founded in 1934, entered India in 2025 with an outlet in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Carvel is known for its soft-serve ice cream offerings.
Unify Foodworks has a long-term target of opening more than 100 stores across India. It plans to apply its NCR learnings before replicating the model in other markets. The company is also investing in supply chain, logistics, and store-level training for that wider rollout.
