Spanish AI scaleup Multiverse Computing has successfully secured a landmark €500 million in its Series C funding round. This investment elevates the company's pre-money valuation to €1.5 billion and marks one of the largest fundraises for a private Spanish tech firm. The capital injection will accelerate Multiverse's mission to make artificial intelligence more efficient and accessible across various industries.

Revolutionizing AI with Quantum-Inspired Technology

At the core of Multiverse's innovation is its proprietary CompactifAI technology, which leverages tensor networks inspired by quantum physics. This groundbreaking approach allows for the compression of large language models by as much as 95 percent. The process significantly reduces model size while maintaining high levels of accuracy, addressing a major challenge in the AI industry.

The primary benefit of this compression is a dramatic reduction in computational and energy requirements for running advanced AI. This enables powerful models to be deployed directly on edge devices such as drones, vehicles, and factory equipment without a constant cloud connection. Consequently, Multiverse is making sophisticated AI feasible in environments where it was previously impractical due to cost or latency.

Strategic Investment and Market Confidence

The funding round was co-led by a trio of prominent international investors: US-based Forgepoint Capital, UK's Bullhound Capital, and the climate-focused Solar Impulse Venture Fund from French bank BNP Paribas. They are joined by a diverse syndicate of backers, including Santander Alternative Investments, HP Inc., and several sovereign funds. This broad support underscores strong market confidence in Multiverse's vision for a more efficient AI ecosystem.

Investors have highlighted the company's unique position to reshape the AI infrastructure landscape for greater efficiency. Damien Henault of Forgepoint Capital noted that Multiverse is poised to lead the next phase of the market by optimizing every deployment. This sentiment reflects a growing belief that the company's technology provides a critical platform for sustainable and sovereign AI development.

Fueling Commercial Growth and Expansion

This new capital follows a period of exceptional commercial growth for the San Sebastián-based company. Multiverse has increased its annualized revenue by more than tenfold since its last funding round and serves over 100 customers globally. Its client roster includes major enterprises such as Bosch, Telefónica, and the Bank of Canada across various sectors.

The proceeds from the Series C round are earmarked for several key strategic initiatives to maintain this momentum. The company plans to expand its library of compressed models, accelerate research and development, and invest in sovereign AI infrastructure. Furthermore, the funds will support a significant expansion of its presence in North America, the Middle East, and Asia.

This substantial €500 million investment solidifies Multiverse Computing's position as a global leader in the push for a more sustainable and accessible AI future. By breaking the dependence on massive, energy-intensive data centers, the company is enabling a new generation of AI applications. The funding will empower Multiverse to scale its transformative technology and redefine the operational standards for artificial intelligence worldwide.
