Kivo Health raised an oversubscribed US$10 million Series A. Allumia Ventures led the round. The company provides AI-powered virtual care for seniors with chronic lung disease.
Who backed the round
The round included Corewell Health Ventures, Y Combinator, Heuristic Capital, and MassMutual Ventures. Kivo has now raised more than US$16 million in total. Its existing backers include SNR Ventures, Liquid 2 Ventures, Samsung NEXT, and Magic Fund.
How Kivo works
Kivo delivers a fully virtual pulmonary rehabilitation and care program. It targets chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD. Its programs are covered by most major health plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
What the data show
A peer-reviewed study of Kivo's program found a 24% improvement in symptoms and a 34% improvement in functional capacity. Median program attendance reached 83%. An actuarial analysis projected US$8,245 in annual savings per member.
The funding will support national expansion of health plan partnerships and clinical operations. Kivo also plans to advance its AI platform across the COPD journey. Over time, the company aims to extend its model to other high-cost chronic conditions.
