H2SITE has been selected for European Union Innovation Fund support to develop an industrial-scale ammonia cracking project in Rotterdam. The facility would produce 20 tons of hydrogen per day. H2SITE makes hydrogen production and separation technology.
Project scope
H2SITE is working with industrial stakeholders in Rotterdam on the full value chain. This includes ammonia reception, storage, hydrogen production, and distribution. Coordination covers technology providers, infrastructure operators, and industrial partners.
Technology and manufacturing
The project uses H2SITE's palladium-alloy membrane technology. The company runs its own manufacturing plant in Europe. The plant helps it deliver larger ammonia cracking and hydrogen purification projects.
Development status
The project is still in development. A grant agreement has not been finalized. A final investment decision will depend on engineering, permitting, commercial agreements, and financing.
The next step is formalizing the EU grant agreement. H2SITE will continue detailed engineering and permitting work with its partners. It is also advancing commercial agreements and financing preparations.
