Meta has acquired Conductor, an AI coding startup founded in 2024. The company lets software engineers deploy multiple coding agents into separate workspaces. Meta confirmed the acquisition but did not disclose financial terms.

Cloud shutdown dates

Conductor announced the deal on November 4. New user sign-ups stopped the same day. Conductor Cloud goes read-only on November 13 and shuts down on November 20.

How Conductor works

Conductor launched its core product in July 2025. Its agents are not built in-house but come from labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI. Users can run agent teams in the cloud, locally, or from a phone.

What existing users keep

Existing Conductor features will continue to work until early next year. Pro users can keep pro features for free. Local Conductor will receive new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027.

Founder Charlie Holtz said he looked forward to working with Meta's Alexandr Wang and Nat Friedman. He described Meta's Superintelligence Labs as having high talent density. The company expects to offer something new when local support winds down.
