Sahal Tech Innovation Labs and Old Rock Group signed a collaboration agreement in Ouagadougou on November 2, 2026. The deal supports the Sahal African Language Data Platform, known as SALDP. The project focuses on AI and language data for four major African languages.

Support from Old Rock Group

Old Rock Group will provide support in three main areas. It will help with strategic planning and project structuring. It will also support technical preparation and deliver specialized training.

Sahal Tech platforms

Sahal Tech builds African digital products. Its AFRINA Chat and TÉKRÉ apps are available through mobile application stores. The company also runs STIC'26, which features more than 600 projects from 23 African countries.

Language data platform

SALDP is building datasets and AI tools for Mooré, Dioula, Fulfuldé, and Bambara. The platform is designed to support AI in these languages. Its long-term goal is to give millions of Africans digital access in their own languages.

Sahal Tech describes the partnership as part of a broader push for digital and linguistic sovereignty. The company says Africa should not remain only a consumer of artificial intelligence. It plans to use SALDP to expand the continent's AI capabilities.
