BRIJ Medical closed a $5 million financing round on Nov. 3, 2026. The San Diego medical technology company develops surgical incision management products. The board led the round, and existing investors supplied most of the funding.

Upsized round

The company initially set out to raise $3 million. It increased the final round size in response to investor demand. Existing investors provided the majority of the new capital.

Company context

BRIJ Medical is based in San Diego. Its products are used by surgeons in orthopedic, plastic, and spine surgery. Tim Gleeson serves as chief executive officer, and John Grotting chairs the board.

Product pipeline

BRIJ-SEAL launched in July 2026 as an advanced wound closure device. The company plans to introduce BRIJ-Ag later this quarter. BRIJ-Ag is a silver-based antimicrobial wound dressing.

Proceeds will mainly support commercial expansion and upcoming product launches. The company is investing in its commercial organization to meet demand. It also plans to put BRIJ-SEAL and Brijjit in front of more surgeons.
