AGRIST, a Japanese foodtech company, signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore-based V+ Agritech on October 29, 2026. AGRIST develops AI-powered automatic harvesting robots. The partners plan to address farming challenges in ASEAN and Japan.
Market entry support
V+ will move into Malaysia's Johor agricultural economic zone. AGRIST will propose and sell its harvesting robots to local farmers there. In Japan, V+ will support new agricultural projects with solar-powered vertical farming.
Company profiles
AGRIST makes automatic harvesting robots for peppers and cucumbers. It also develops a farm management app. V+ was founded in 2021 and runs more than 30 small farms in Singapore.
Technology and education
The two companies will develop a package that combines V+ solar vertical farming with AGRIST harvesting robots. They will adapt the package for high-demand, high-margin crops in Southeast Asia. They also plan to bring the technology into schools in Japan and Singapore.
AGRIST said it will use the agreement to speed its expansion into ASEAN and other global markets. The signing took place during the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit 2026. The ceremony was hosted by Japan's agriculture ministry and Singapore's government.
