Xapien, an AI native due diligence platform, has announced a $56 million growth investment led by Spectrum Equity with participation from existing investor YFM Equity Partners. The company reports that its annual recurring revenue has grown more than 350 percent over the past 24 months, while half of its revenue already comes from the United States. The new capital will support a broader U.S. expansion, including the growth of its Boston office and the relocation of senior leaders.

Funding and Expansion Plans

Spectrum Equity brings two decades of experience in risk and compliance technology, with prior investments including World-Check and Verafin. Xapien plans to build out its U.S. presence, where it already generates 50 percent of revenue, and will expand its Boston office while relocating its chief executive and other leaders. The round also includes continued support from YFM Equity Partners, an existing investor in the company.

Addressing a Persistent Compliance Gap

Business relationships remain a significant source of ongoing risk, but many organizations lack the resources to scrutinize all counterparties. According to the company, only 30 percent of organizations report having the bandwidth to assess even half of their business relationships. This limited coverage leaves compliance, legal, and procurement teams with substantial blind spots across their third-party networks.

Platform Capabilities

Xapien was created to address that gap by enabling full counterparty coverage without sacrificing speed or scale. The platform reads open web sources, corporate records, sanctions lists, and media in any language and then resolves entities against thousands of similarly named people and organizations. It performs human-grade risk analysis and returns a clear, fully sourced, auditable report in minutes rather than days.

Automation and Continuous Monitoring

Clients report that 90 percent of onboarding cases can be fully automated, allowing analyst teams to focus on higher risk and more complex matters. Xapien Live, currently in beta, is designed to provide a persistent view of counterparty risk and support a transition from periodic due diligence to continuous surveillance. This dynamic approach aims to replace one-off checks with ongoing visibility across all business relationships.

Leadership and Market Adoption

Founded in 2018 by Dan Secretan and Shaun O'Mahony, with CEO Chris Green joining in 2022, Xapien draws leadership from veterans of BAE Systems financial crime and national security divisions. The company now serves 350 clients and partners across 15 countries, including multinational corporations, law firms, private banks, universities, and professional services firms. Representative clients include Greenberg Traurig, ABB, Dow Jones Risk and Compliance, and KPMG.

Statements from Key Stakeholders

Chris Green, CEO of Xapien, said third-party due diligence has remained stubbornly manual for twenty years, forcing businesses to ration scrutiny and exposing them to risk. Adam Margolin, Managing Director at Spectrum Equity, described Xapien as a rare opportunity to back a team focused on transforming enhanced due diligence through artificial intelligence. Joel Lange of Dow Jones Risk and Compliance added that the platform shows automation can deliver both depth and speed.

With this new funding, Xapien is positioned to accelerate its mission of making dynamic due diligence a global standard for third-party risk management. The company's growth, client base, and expanding U.S. operations suggest strong momentum in a market that has long struggled to balance speed and assurance. As regulatory expectations continue to evolve, continuous and automated counterparty monitoring may become essential for organizations seeking to move with confidence.
