Agora Labs raised €4.3 million in a funding round led by P101 SGR. The Mussetto family, owners of Infinite Five, also participated. The Italian deeptech company helps hospitals make clinical data usable for medical research while protecting patient privacy.

Investor backing

Infinite Five is a holding company active in martech, data analysis, and robotics. The investment is the 17th made through Programma 103 and its related vehicles. Programma 103 is supported by the European Union through the InvestEU Fund.

Company origins

Agora Labs was founded in Rome by Davide Zaccagnini and Fabio Giulietto. It grew out of a European research project launched after the GDPR took effect in 2018. Commercial operations began in 2023, and the company now works with 50 healthcare facilities.

How the platform works

A computing node with NVIDIA GPUs is installed at each participating hospital. Specialized large language models structure and standardize the data, and anonymization processes protect patient information. Federated AI connects hospitals so research centers and pharmaceutical companies can study larger populations without accessing raw patient records.

Agora Labs plans to double its network to 100 healthcare facilities. It will expand into the Middle East and India. Around 20 technical and commercial professionals are expected to join in the coming months.
