Orange Jordan concluded the Private Sector Access to Support Startups program, known as PASS. The initiative supported 130 entrepreneurs in strengthening their businesses and preparing for growth. Orange Jordan, a telecom and digital solutions provider, ran the program with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and GIZ Jordan.
Program support
Over one year, PASS provided specialized training, individual guidance, and mentorship. The support was tailored to each business and its stage of development. It aimed to increase sales, boost productivity, and strengthen competitiveness.
Reach and mentor training
The program covered Amman, Irbid, Jerash, Mafraq, Karak, and Aqaba. Organizers also trained more than 85 entrepreneurship experts to act as mentors. That training covered communication, asking questions, active listening, feedback, and trust building.
Policy context
PASS is part of the Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment project. The project falls under Jordan's National Entrepreneurship Policy, adopted in 2022 and extended until 2027. It supports startups from ideation to growth through capacity building, access to finance, and market access.
After the program, GIZ said participants will keep access to experienced professionals. Orange Jordan pointed to its Orange Digital Center programs as part of ongoing entrepreneurship support. GIZ added that the approach strengthens the private sector's role in Jordan's startup ecosystem.
