Dublin-based financing platform Wayflyer has announced its acquisition of Conjura, an AI-driven e-commerce analytics company. This strategic move is designed to accelerate Wayflyer's AI product roadmap and deliver enhanced value to its global small business clientele. The acquisition brings the two companies full circle, as Wayflyer was originally incubated within Conjura before becoming a standalone entity.


A Strategic Move to Enhance AI Capabilities

Many small businesses struggle with financial data that is fragmented across various commerce, marketing, and operational platforms. Conjura addresses this by consolidating data into a single view and applying AI models for predictive growth and margin insights. Its platform also features a natural language interface, allowing merchants to query complex datasets using plain English.

Through this acquisition, Wayflyer will integrate Conjura's technology to create more powerful, AI-enabled financial tools for its customers. The goal is to embed data-driven insights directly into the funding and growth decision-making process for merchants. Wayflyer was first developed within Conjura in 2019 before it was spun out to become an independent company. This shared history suggests a strong cultural alignment and a seamless integration of the two teams, with all of Conjura's employees joining Wayflyer.

Aidan Corbett, CEO and Co-Founder of Wayflyer, described the deal as a "full circle moment" for him personally. He praised the Conjura team for supercharging their analytics platform with an AI-powered natural language interface. Corbett expressed his excitement to welcome the team and work together to empower small businesses worldwide.

The Journey of Conjura

Founded in 2018, Conjura experienced significant growth, particularly during the pandemic-driven expansion of e-commerce. The company successfully scaled to serve over 2,000 merchants, processing more than 135 terabytes of data annually. This impressive track record demonstrated its capability to handle large-scale data analytics for a diverse client base.

Conjura's development was supported by prominent European venture capital firms, including Act Venture Capital, MiddleGame Ventures, and Tribal VC. Fran Quilty, CEO and Co-Founder of Conjura, expressed gratitude to these investors for their early backing. He stated that joining Wayflyer will enable the company to place its powerful technology into the hands of more founders than ever before.


While the financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, the strategic implications are clear for the e-commerce sector.
