Tencent launched Buddy One, an AI office suite built around its WorkBuddy agent, at its Global Digital Ecosystem Summit in Shenzhen. WorkBuddy now reaches 50% of China's 500 largest companies and 60% of the top 100. The company also introduced Tencent Drive, a cloud storage service for agent-created work.

What the suite includes

Buddy One connects Tencent Docs, Tencent Meeting, Yuanbao search, and the ima knowledge base. Users request a result instead of switching between separate apps. WorkBuddy also appears inside WeCom, Tencent's corporate messaging tool.

Adoption so far

WorkBuddy has reached more than 50 industries since its launch in March. Tencent says its open platform has over 50,000 partners and developers, plus more than 200,000 skills. Dairy maker Yili used the agent to raise sales orders by 26% in an A/B test.

Business links and controls

WorkBuddy uses the open MCP standard to connect with ERP and CRM systems. IT administrators manage licenses, quotas, and access permissions from a central console. Tencent says agents detect malicious instructions, block high-risk operations, and log every action.

Tencent Cloud plans to take Buddy One and related agents to international markets. The company says active cloud customers abroad doubled in one year across more than 150 countries. It has not announced when Buddy One and Tencent Drive will arrive outside China.
