Tare has raised $13.25 million in seed financing to build a unified system for originating, managing, and financing credit assets. The round was led by Blockchain Capital and includes participation from Strobe Ventures, Janus Henderson, Apollo Global Management, The Venture Dept, Neoclassic Capital, and the Avalanche Foundation. The company announced the funding on September 16, 2026, positioning itself to transform how loan creation and distribution operate.
Strategic Funding from Industry Leaders
The financing attracted institutional investors and individual backers with deep experience across fintech, digital assets, and private credit. Individual participants include Aave CEO Stani Kulechov, Tether co-founder Phil Potter, Privy CEO Henri Stern, This Week in Fintech CEO Nik Milanovic, and Steakhouse Financial co-founder Mark Phillips. Their combined support highlights the industry's interest in improving credit market infrastructure through tokenization and shared data systems.
Market Inefficiencies in Asset Backed Finance
Asset backed finance is a core pillar of private credit portfolios, with the U.S. total addressable market estimated between $6 trillion and $8 trillion. Investors rely on timely and accurate data to manage risk, yet recent AIMA studies found that 69 percent of asset managers lack sufficient data management capabilities. That gap leads to slower execution and higher operating costs, which limits how efficiently capital can move through the credit market.
How Tare's Platform Works
Tare connects asset originators and investors through a shared asset ledger, enabling buyers and sellers to source opportunities and transact with greater control and trust. Built on Avalanche, the Tare network is managed through three vertically integrated applications. These include a loan origination system for decisioning and standardized data, a loan management system for servicing and securitization, and a digital investor hub for sourcing, analyzing, purchasing, monitoring, and selling credit assets.
Putting the Platform to Work
Designed as a developer friendly, self-serve experience for capital markets participants, Tare's platform aims to drive operational efficiencies that lower costs and fees for borrowers. The company is also using its own infrastructure through Tare Credit LLC, a licensed consumer lending subsidiary. Tare Credit LLC will begin originating unsecured personal loans to U.S. borrowers this month, providing an early proof point for the network.
Views from Leadership
Kevin Miao, CEO of Tare, said credit is one of the largest markets in the world, yet the infrastructure supporting it remains fragmented and inefficient. He added that Tare closes that gap by bringing origination, servicing, and capital markets into one unified system. Nick Cherney of Janus Henderson and Aleks Larsen of Blockchain Capital also emphasized the opportunity to modernize loan originator and investor connectivity around a single source of truth.
Founder Experience and Roadmap
Tare was founded by Kevin Miao, Keerthi Moudgal, and Lucas Vogelsang, who bring experience across private credit, financial infrastructure, and digital assets. Miao previously ran a $2 billion private credit portfolio at BlockTower, Moudgal led product development at J.P. Morgan's Kinexys, and Vogelsang founded Centrifuge. The new capital will support continued product development and hiring as the company expands the platform to more lenders and institutional investors.
The $13.25 million seed round gives Tare the resources to scale its platform and prove its infrastructure in regulated financial markets. By combining loan origination, loan management, and investor access in one system, the company aims to reduce costs and improve transparency across the credit lifecycle. Lenders and investors interested in originating, financing, or managing credit through Tare can contact the company directly, and open positions are listed on its careers page.
