Chilean startup SmartUp is opening a commercial office in Atlanta to sell AI agents for logistics. CEO and co-founder Max Mardones will relocate to Atlanta to lead the expansion. The company is targeting US$10 million in sales over the next 12 months.

Why Atlanta

SmartUp has had a US presence for two years through a local partner. Traction accelerated in the past six months. The company chose Atlanta because logistics and supply chain customers are concentrated in the southeastern United States.

Founding and backing

SmartUp was founded in 2023 by Max Mardones, Daniel Sateler, Daniel Goldfarb, and Alan Ben-Dov. It has backing from Nvidia, Anthropic, Amazon Web Services, and Endeavor Chile. Angel investor Chris Klaus contributed about US$400,000.

What the AI agents do

SmartUp builds AI agents for logistics and supply chain operations. The agents are designed to integrate with inventory and warehouse management systems. Providers of those systems already refer clients to SmartUp.

SmartUp is in talks with Atlanta investment funds to raise a new round. It plans to hire three senior consultants in Atlanta. Chile will remain the company's engineering base.
