Riyadh-based game developer Takahouse has secured $1.5 million in funding from Saudi investment firm Impact46. The capital will support the creation of new games and products while strengthening the company's existing mobile development capabilities. Founded in 2018, Takahouse focuses on mobile titles and interactive applications that combine entertainment with social interaction.
New Capital to Broaden Game Portfolio
The funding gives Takahouse room to move beyond reliance on a single title and build a wider mobile game portfolio. The company intends to use the new capital for product development and improvements to its current operations. This shift supports its goal of becoming a regional developer and publisher in the gaming sector.
WhistGame Serves as Early Foundation
Takahouse launched its first title, WhistGame, in 2021 as an interactive card game built around social play. The game has attracted more than 140,000 users and passed 100,000 downloads on Google Play. This audience is now helping the company study player behaviour, retention and engagement patterns before it releases additional titles.
Data and Audience Shape Next Products
The company says the performance of WhistGame is informing how it designs future games for regional audiences. Rather than treating the first game as a standalone success, Takahouse is using the experience as a foundation for product development. The data gathered from its current players is expected to guide improvements and new releases.
Impact46 Deepens Gaming Investments
Impact46 has been increasing its activity in Saudi Arabia's gaming sector. In August, the firm co-led a $1.45 million round for Majestic Mind Games alongside Merak Capital. It has also invested more than $6.7 million across five Saudi game developers in 2025 through its SAR 150 million Gaming Fund, equivalent to $40 million.
Social Interaction Remains Central
Takahouse is not moving away from the approach that shaped WhistGame as it prepares new releases. Its strategy remains focused on mobile games that blend entertainment with communication between players, with social mechanics at the centre of each product. The model developed through WhistGame is expected to serve as the base for future titles while supporting stronger player retention.
Regional Ambitions and Product Expansion
Beyond immediate product development, the company wants to establish itself as a regional developer and publisher. The new capital is meant to support multiple projects and reduce dependence on a single game. Takahouse sees the funding as a way to turn lessons from its first product into a broader development strategy.
A Broader Saudi Gaming Landscape
The investment places Takahouse among a growing number of Saudi game developers attracting local venture funding. Impact46 has been building a portfolio of studios that includes Fahy Games, NJD, Game Cooks, Starvania and Alpaka Games. This activity reflects rising investor confidence in locally produced digital entertainment and interactive content across the region.
With fresh capital from Impact46 and a growing user base from WhistGame, Takahouse is now moving into its next phase. The company plans to strengthen product development, improve existing capabilities and launch additional games without abandoning its socially driven model. The investment adds another Saudi gaming startup to the country's expanding digital entertainment landscape.
