Qorium, a cultivated leather company, has rebranded as Reyva. The company plans to serve luxury and automotive customers. It has raised €30 million to date, including a €22 million Series A announced in November 2025.
What the new name means
The name Reyva combines 'RE' for reinventing leather with 'VA' for forward movement. It also echoes the Spanish word 'rey,' meaning king. The company will keep its team, technology, partnerships, and commercial plans.
How the leather is made
Reyva grows collagen directly from animal cells. The cells are multiplied in proprietary tissue bioreactors. The resulting sheets are tanned and finished using standard leather industry methods.
Projected footprint
An independent CE Delft assessment projects an 87% lower carbon footprint at full production in 2029. It calculated 10.5 kg CO2-equivalent per square meter at the tannery gate. That compares with 77 to 83 kg for conventional French calf leather.
Reyva is industrializing its process at Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus in the Netherlands. It is working with selected partners in automotive and luxury fashion. Initial availability will be limited while capacity scales.
