NeoSci Ventures raised S$70 million, or US$53 million, for its inaugural institutional venture fund. The venture builder and investor operates across Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States. The vehicle will invest in biotechnology opportunities across the United States and Asia.
Backing from global institutions
Limited partners in the vehicle include government-backed funds, listed corporations, and family offices. Notable backers include Taiwan’s National Development Fund and EDBI, an arm of SG Growth Capital. Catcher Technology and Crescendas Group also contributed capital to the fund.
Leadership and track record
Founding managing partner Daphne Teo and founding chief scientist Timothy Lu lead the firm. The leadership team previously established NSG BioLabs, a co-working laboratory platform in Singapore. Its members have also supported ventures such as Enleofen Bio and Nasdaq-listed Tango Therapeutics.
Hands-on company creation
NSV identifies scientific opportunities and builds early-stage companies directly around them. Its team frequently steps into founder, board, or executive roles during the initial years. The firm then connects those emerging businesses to corporate partners and resources.
The fund will invest globally in therapeutics and drug candidates from Asia. It will also back technologies at the intersection of biology, artificial intelligence, and data tools. These investments aim to help pharmaceutical companies strengthen their development pipelines.
