Nu Colombia has announced a strategic alliance with Gopass, a leading mobility platform, to streamline toll payments across the country. This partnership allows Nu's credit and debit cardholders to link their accounts for automated, contactless transactions at enabled toll booths. The collaboration aims to enhance the driving experience by eliminating the need for cash and reducing travel times for thousands of motorists.

Streamlining Road Travel with Digital Payments

The system operates through a small electronic device, the Gopass Tag, which is installed on the vehicle's windshield. As the vehicle passes through a designated toll lane, the Tag is automatically detected, and the toll fee is processed instantly. The charge is then debited directly from the user's linked Nu card, removing any need to stop or handle physical currency.

A Seamless User Experience

This integration provides drivers with a significantly more efficient and convenient way to manage their road travel expenses. By automating payments, the alliance directly addresses common issues such as long queues and the inconvenience of carrying exact change. Users can easily monitor all their toll expenditures through both the Nu and Gopass mobile applications, promoting better financial tracking.

Exclusive Incentives for Nu Customers

To celebrate the new partnership, Nu and Gopass are offering exclusive benefits to encourage adoption among their customer bases. New users who link their Nu card to the Gopass platform will receive their first two toll payments completely free of charge. Additionally, they will be granted a complimentary one-month membership to the Gopass Premium plan, unlocking a wider range of services.

Expanding Value with Gopass Premium

The Gopass Premium membership extends the platform's advantages beyond toll roads, offering a comprehensive suite of mobility benefits. Subscribers gain access to discounts at affiliated Parking network locations, car wash services with Be Wash, and roadside assistance programs. The plan also includes a post-payment option, allowing frequent drivers to consolidate their usage and settle their balance at a later time.

A Strategic Vision for Mobility

According to Jorge Miguel Camacho, CEO and co-founder of Gopass, this alliance is designed to simplify the entire mobility experience for Colombians. He emphasized that the partnership reinforces the shift towards cashless solutions while providing drivers with greater control over their vehicle-related expenses. The collaboration is a key step in expanding access to digital payment technologies on the nation's highways and urban centers.

Simple Onboarding for Drivers

Getting started with the service is designed to be a simple and accessible process for all interested drivers. The Gopass Tag can be acquired at no cost, with options for home delivery or pickup at partner locations like shopping centers and Terpel service stations. After obtaining the Tag, users simply download the Gopass superapp and link their Nu debit or credit card as the payment method.

The collaboration between Nu Colombia and Gopass represents a significant advancement in the integration of financial technology and mobility services in the country. By offering a practical, secure, and efficient payment solution, the partnership is poised to accelerate the adoption of digital payments on Colombian roads. This move reflects a growing trend toward creating interconnected digital ecosystems that simplify daily life for consumers across various sectors.
