Kravata, a Colombian fintech focused on digital asset infrastructure, has launched Kravata Go, a new solution that allows users to buy and manage digital dollars directly through the Mi Claro app. The service has been available since January 2026 and is integrated as a mini-program within Claro Colombia’s digital ecosystem. The launch comes as Colombian consumers increasingly seek secure and efficient ways to protect their money amid inflation and exchange rate volatility.

Expanding financial services within Mi Claro

With the addition of Kravata Go, Claro Colombia continues to expand the range of financial and digital services offered through its flagship application. The solution is accessible directly from the Mi Claro app, removing the need for separate platforms or complex onboarding processes. This integration reflects Claro’s broader strategy to turn its app into a central hub for everyday digital services.

Jaime Tole, Director of Innovation and Product at Claro Colombia, said the company is strengthening its application ecosystem by adding mini-programs that simplify access to new services. According to Claro, these integrations are designed to reduce friction and improve the overall user experience. The partnership with Kravata aligns with this vision by bringing a regulated digital finance solution to a mass-market platform.

Economic backdrop driving demand

Kravata Go enters the market at a time of heightened economic uncertainty in Colombia. Inflation has accumulated to more than 30 percent over the past four years and has remained above the central bank’s target. As a result, households have shown growing interest in tools that help preserve purchasing power.

At the same time, the Colombian peso has experienced sharp fluctuations against the U.S. dollar. Over the same period, the exchange rate has fallen below COP 3,800 and surged above COP 5,000, reflecting significant volatility. In January 2026, the rate continued to move unpredictably, reinforcing concerns among consumers.

Addressing reliance on cash dollars

In response to these conditions, many Colombians continue to rely on buying and selling physical dollars as a store of value. This practice exposes individuals to security risks, informal market pricing, and the possibility of counterfeit bills. Kravata Go is positioned as a digital alternative to these traditional behaviors.

Through the platform, users can purchase digital dollars in small amounts and convert them back into pesos when needed. The entire process takes place digitally, reducing exposure to the risks associated with cash transactions. The fintech aims to offer a safer and more transparent option for managing foreign currency value.

Kravata’s digital dollar proposition

Felipe Montes, CEO of Kravata, said the company believes accessing and moving digital dollars should be as simple as sending a message. By launching within the Mi Claro app, Kravata seeks to lower barriers for users regardless of their level of financial inclusion. The company emphasizes simplicity, speed, and regulatory compliance as core elements of the product.

Beyond basic buying and selling, Kravata plans to expand the functionality of Kravata Go. Future features are expected to include international payments and rewards programs, all delivered through a fully digital experience. These additions are intended to broaden the use cases of digital dollars for everyday financial needs.

Security and regulatory compliance

Kravata Go operates under international security and compliance standards. The onboarding process includes identity verification and anti-fraud monitoring when required, following KYC and AML guidelines. These measures are designed to build trust and ensure safe use of the platform.

According to the company, its infrastructure enables seamless conversion between local currency and digital dollars while remaining within regulatory frameworks. This focus on compliance is central to Kravata’s positioning in the Latin American fintech landscape. The company aims to balance innovation with responsible financial practices.

How users access Kravata Go

Users can access Kravata Go by downloading or updating the Mi Claro app on Android or iOS devices. Within the app, the service is located in the commercial zone under the credits and finance category. Registration and verification can be completed quickly, allowing users to start purchasing digital dollars in seconds.

The process is designed to be intuitive, even for users with limited experience in digital finance. By embedding the service in a widely used app, Kravata significantly expands its potential reach. This approach supports its goal of making digital dollars accessible to a broader segment of the population.

The launch of Kravata Go within the Mi Claro app marks a significant step in the evolution of digital financial services in Colombia. By addressing economic uncertainty and reducing reliance on informal cash markets, the solution responds to clear consumer needs. As fintech adoption continues to grow, initiatives like Kravata Go highlight the increasing role of digital platforms in reshaping how people manage and protect their money.
