Egyptian climatetech startup NoorNation closed a $1.05 million Seed funding round. The company builds decentralized clean energy and water infrastructure for off-grid users. Investors included Linah Farms, Catalyst Fund, and Saudi firm KBW Ventures.

From customer to investor

Linah Farms had already used NoorNation's renewable systems at several sites. The projects covered solar irrigation, an agricultural school, and a hotel in Sharm El Sheikh. The new investment moved Linah Farms from customer to shareholder.

Company background

NoorNation was founded in 2021 by Ragy Ramadan and Mohamed Khaled. The startup serves agricultural businesses and rural communities in Egypt. It also works across Sub-Saharan Africa.

What LifeBox does

NoorNation's flagship product is LifeBox, a self-contained solar-powered system. It supplies electricity and water for irrigation and desalination. The company reported more than EGP 3 million in diesel savings at Linah Farms' Bahariya Oasis operations.

NoorNation and Linah Farms announced five additional solar installations with roughly 1.13 MWp of combined capacity. The installations cover Bahariya Oasis and West Minya. NoorNation is also developing a pay-per-use solar irrigation model for farmers using diesel pumps.
