Begin Capital has launched Begin Capital II, a $100 million deep tech venture fund. The London-based firm named three founders from its first fund as venture partners. They are Flaviu Radulescu of Runware, Elias Schneider of Codesphere, and Dan Lifshits of Dwelly.
Fund terms
The new fund will write checks from $500,000 to $8 million. It will back companies from Pre-Seed to Series A. It will target AI infrastructure, hardware and silicon, and physical AI.
First fund performance
Begin Capital launched its first fund in 2020. That fund made 28 early-stage investments, including Runware, Codesphere, and Dwelly. The firm said Fund I ranks in the top 1% of its vintage globally.
Early portfolio
Fund II has nine investments to date. They include All3, SurrealDB, DesignVerse, Zencoder, and one startup in stealth. Several Fund I founders also invested as limited partners.
Begin Capital said it will invest globally with a focus on European technical talent. The venture partners will help the investment team source new deals. The firm plans to write small first checks and then build ownership in early winners.
