Moniepoint is restructuring its engineering and product teams in a move affecting some existing roles. The Nigerian fintech supports payments, banking, credit, and business management tools. It processes more than $400 billion in annual digital payment transaction value.

New platform structure

The company is moving from separate product and market teams to a platform-based structure. Smaller teams will build and manage shared technology capabilities from end to end. The redesign is meant to ease deployment across countries and reduce operational complexity.

Roles affected and created

Some existing positions will become redundant under the new model. The company will consider affected employees for other vacancies before redundancy consultations. It is also creating platform architect roles and retaining senior engineering leaders.

Company scale and markets

Moniepoint has an agent network covering all 774 local government areas in Nigeria. It is expanding its operations in Kenya and looking at additional markets. Its microfinance bank processed transactions worth N412 trillion and disbursed over N1 trillion in loans in 2025.

The process is expected to unfold over several weeks. Managers and human resources will help determine who can be retained within the new structure. Engineering and product development will remain central to the company.
