Mintive, a startup that governs identity and access for enterprise AI agents, has raised US$7 million in Seed funding led by Cowboy Ventures. The round brings total funding to US$11 million. Its platform powers 2.5 million agent calls daily across more than 50 paying customers.

Investor backing

The Seed round included Coatue, Operator Collective, Burst Capital, Maven Ventures, and Hustle Fund. Angel investors included Okta co-founder Frederic Kerrest, WorkOS founder Michael Grinich, and former Adobe CPO Scott Belsky. Former Google Chief Scientist Jeff Dean and OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy also joined.

Customer adoption

Mintive says it has covered more than 200 million agent calls in seven months. Paying customers include Ro, Modern Treasury, Coursera, the University of Michigan, Apax, and Stability AI. The company launched its product in February.

How the platform works

Mintive treats each AI agent like an employee with its own identity and limited access. Its MCP gateway governs tool access, and its LLM gateway governs model calls. Mint Guard screens calls for prompt injection, exposed secrets, and personal data.

Mintive also offers Coworker agents that work alongside teams in Slack or Teams. These agents can write and review code, support sales and marketing, and use company data. They include long-term memory and can proactively complete tasks.
