SpendRule raised US$4 million in Seed funding. Mark Cuban's Radical Investments led the round, and Zeal Capital Partners also participated. The AI platform helps health systems pay exactly what their purchased services contracts say.
Use of funds
SpendRule will use the new capital to deepen its work with health systems. It will also invest in product development and engineering. The company plans to bring its contract enforcement technology to a broader range of businesses.
Company footprint
SpendRule was founded in 2025 and is based in Dallas. Joseph Akintolayo and Chris Heckler are co-founders and co-CEOs. The company manages US$2.91 billion in annual contracted purchased services spend across 2,187 business relationships.
How the platform works
The platform reads contract terms and checks each invoice against them. It flags overcharges with evidence and drafts credit requests. Health systems including OSF HealthCare, Kettering Health, MemorialCare, and MUSC Health use the tool.
SpendRule is also building infrastructure for AI agents. Those agents increasingly buy, approve, and pay on behalf of companies. The technology helps them understand what each contract allows.
