Lightstorm Vision, founded by James Cameron in 2024, has acquired Outsyders, a creative technology collective known for its production-proven artificial intelligence pipeline for stereoscopic 3D content. The acquisition, announced on September 16, 2026, unites Outsyders' intelligent post-production platform with Lightstorm Vision's native capture and processing infrastructure. The combined organization aims to deliver an industry-first end-to-end solution for creating world-class 3D content across both new productions and existing content libraries.


A Production-Proven Pipeline

Founded by Paul Becker, Jared Sandrew, and Chris Harvey and launched in April 2024, Outsyders enables cinematic-quality stereoscopic post-production with the throughput required for high-volume work. Its pipeline has delivered the IMAX 3D version of Blue Angels, the 3D reimagining of Disney's Lilo & Stitch, Doug Liman's Asteroid, and contributions to Tron Ares and Moana. The company currently has more than five feature films in progress, demonstrating its capacity to handle demanding production schedules.
