Deep Renewables won the grand prize at the 2026 Climate Tech Startup Awards in Seoul. The company operates Solarlease, a rooftop solar supply and subscription platform. The award recognizes startups with climate-focused innovation and commercial potential.
Award details
The ceremony took place at the Seoul Press Center on the 27th. Organizers received applications from 25 teams in September. Judges reviewed entries from October 7 to 17 and selected four companies.
Company approach
Deep Renewables builds solar plants on existing factory, warehouse, and school rooftops. The approach avoids clearing forests or farmland. Domestic renewable energy deployment remains at 28% of the target.
How Solarlease works
Building owners can choose an electricity subscription, a power plant rental, or a roof lease. Deep Renewables manages operations and insurance for 20 years. Its Solarlease Ops platform standardizes site review and cuts project completion to about 7 months.
Deep Renewables plans to expand rooftop solar supply across factory and logistics center roofs in Gyeonggi Province. It will also work with companies that need to meet RE100 targets. The company aims to install 338 MW cumulatively by 2029.
