Carma, a Denver-based network and digital infrastructure software provider, has secured a strategic investment from Boston-based investor M33 Growth. The company serves data centers, fiber carriers, and network operators with a platform that connects sales, operations, and finance. Ryan Kubacki also joins Carma as its new chief executive officer.

Leadership change

Kubacki previously served as CEO of Contruent, an M33 Growth portfolio company. He also led revenue at Flexera and began his career at Microsoft. Co-founders Frank and Joe McDermott will remain closely involved with customers and prospects.

Company roots

Carma was founded in Denver in 2016 by brothers Frank and Joe McDermott. The company has spent years building a quote-to-cash platform for digital infrastructure. Its platform supports hyperscale data centers, edge data centers, fiber networks, subsea assets, and towers.

What the platform does

The platform aggregates more than two dozen functions into one system. It links physical assets such as space, power, cross-connects, and dark fiber to contracts, services, SLAs, and billing. Operators get a single source of truth over what they own and what is available to sell.

M33 Growth will support Carma's next phase of growth. Carma plans to accelerate its product roadmap and expand its engineering, implementation, and go-to-market teams. The company says its platform already helps customers increase revenue and satisfaction.
