Anduril and Qualcomm Technologies unveiled BlueChip, a product line for American-built computers. The first release is a laptop designed and assembled in the United States. It will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Series platform.
Manufacturing plans
Circuit board assembly is planned for Anduril's Arsenal-1 facility in Ohio. Anduril will develop domestic production for enclosures, battery components, and other hardware. The company plans to begin taking orders in 2027.
Engineering details
Qualcomm Technologies is based in San Diego. Anduril has already built functional prototypes of the first laptop. The engineering work includes enclosure design for U.S. machining and power systems for American batteries.
Supply chain targets
Components from U.S. and allied-country suppliers make up more than 90% of prototype component procurement cost. Anduril is working to expand domestic component production before the first orders. The long-term goal is an end-to-end American supply chain.
Anduril will qualify suppliers and prepare for production. The company is also developing a bonding process for U.S.-made display glass. Interested organizations can register on Anduril's BlueChip page.
