London-based fintech CapRelease has secured a significant $36 million funding round to fuel its expansion in the embedded finance sector. The company, which specializes in providing capital to eCommerce retailers, will use the investment to accelerate its growth across the United Kingdom and prepare for its entry into the US market. This move signals strong investor confidence in its innovative, data-driven approach to business lending.

A New Model for eCommerce Financing

CapRelease is pioneering a new financing model by embedding itself within the logistics ecosystem, bypassing traditional credit scores. It leverages real-time data from sales performance, logistics partners, and payment systems to offer inventory and revenue-based financing. This AI-driven approach provides capital that accurately reflects a business's true trading momentum, addressing a critical gap for underserved SMEs.

Details of the Strategic Funding

The $36 million funding package is a hybrid of debt and equity, structured to fuel sustainable growth. It comprises a $33.3 million senior debt facility from global private credit firm Partners for Growth (PFG) and a $2.7 million equity investment from a fintech-focused family office. A second equity close is planned for the first quarter of 2026 to specifically support the company's US launch.

Leadership and Investor Confidence

Jack Williams, Founder and CEO of CapRelease, described the investment as a "significant step-change" that helps retailers unlock capital with less friction. This sentiment was echoed by investors, with PFG's Investment Director, Richard Osborne, praising the team’s expertise and distinctive model. He noted its potential to fundamentally reshape how eCommerce businesses access growth capital, underscoring the firm's confidence.

Fueling Growth and Expansion

The new capital is earmarked for several key strategic initiatives to solidify CapRelease's market position. The company will scale its UK operations, deepen integrations with logistics and retail technology platforms, and continue advancing its proprietary risk infrastructure. This investment provides the necessary firepower to execute these plans and prepare for a strategic entry into the United States in 2026.

Addressing a Growing Market Need

CapRelease's solution targets the UK's burgeoning $240,9million eCommerce market, which is projected to grow significantly. Many online retailers are constrained by outdated lending practices, but CapRelease unlocks this demand by linking capital to verified operational performance. This enables faster deployment and meaningful growth for founders without requiring onerous personal guarantees or heavy collateral obligations.

This latest funding round validates CapRelease's data-centric approach and equips it to become a pivotal player in the eCommerce finance ecosystem. By providing a more agile and accessible financial lifeline, the company is now well-positioned to empower SME growth in the United Kingdom. As it prepares for international expansion, its innovative model is set to make a lasting impact on global commerce.
