C6 Bank has agreed to acquire Alymente, a Brazilian corporate benefits fintech, marking the digital bank's entry into a segment that moves approximately 150 billion reais per year. The transaction, announced on Thursday, requires approval from the Central Bank of Brazil and is expected to close in the coming months. Once completed, Alymente will operate as C6 Benefícios, a brand under C6 Bank, although the financial terms were not disclosed.

Acquisition Terms and Leadership

C6 Bank will acquire full control of Alymente, and the deal is now awaiting approval from the Central Bank of Brazil, with completion expected within two to three months. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. André Purri, co-founder of Alymente, will remain in charge of the new operation, which will be renamed C6 Benefícios.

Alymente's Platform and Client Base

Founded in 2017 by former Stone executives, Alymente offers a multi-benefit card that consolidates meal and food vouchers, transportation, telemedicine, psychological support, and gym access in a single platform. The company serves more than 1,200 corporate clients, including Heineken, Nissan, BIC, and Pernod Ricard, and supports over 100,000 beneficiaries. C6 Bank said the acquisition adds a previously missing piece to its corporate portfolio and provides traction to scale the operation quickly.

Market Size and Competitive Landscape

The Brazilian corporate benefits market moves approximately 150 billion reais per year and serves more than 22 million workers. It has historically been dominated by four major players linked to large banks: Ticket, Alelo, Pluxee, and VR, which together control over 80 percent of the market. C6 Bank's entry places it in direct competition with these established names while leveraging its own 42 million customers and extensive product offerings.

Regulatory Opening and New Entrants

Recent regulatory changes have made the sector more open by requiring large accreditors to operate on an interoperable infrastructure. The rules also introduce fee caps and shorten settlement periods for merchants to 15 days, creating a more dynamic environment. BTG Pactual entered the segment just two weeks before the C6 Bank announcement, highlighting growing competition in corporate benefits.

Impact on Corporate Clients

For companies, the integration will bring benefits management into the same ecosystem as C6 Bank's broad financial services, including credit, investments, international solutions, and payment machines. The bank aims to become a one-stop shop for corporate clients while also competing more aggressively for payroll relationships. After the transaction closes, the Alymente card will be issued by Mastercard, and additional transition details will be communicated through official channels.

Impact on Employees and Card Acceptance

For employees, the main pillars of the experience will remain unchanged, including freedom, practicality, security, personalization, and acceptance. Beneficiaries can continue using their cards normally at establishments that already accept them, and no immediate action is required. The company said that if any action becomes necessary during the transition, clients and users will be informed in advance through official channels and account managers.

C6 Bank's Broader Corporate Strategy

Launched in 2019, C6 Bank has more than 42 million clients and offers over 100 products, services, and functionalities for individuals and legal entities. The acquisition supports its strategy to expand the corporate portfolio and to capture a larger share of the payroll market. In the coming months, the bank plans to launch a solution that allows companies to concentrate salary payments at the institution.

The acquisition of Alymente signals a new competitive phase in Brazil's corporate benefits sector, as digital banks challenge traditional incumbents. By combining Alymente's specialized platform with C6 Bank's broad financial infrastructure, the operation aims to improve experiences for companies and employees while expanding the bank's corporate footprint. The final consolidation depends on regulatory approval, but the strategic direction is clear: C6 Bank intends to integrate benefits and banking in a single ecosystem.
