Sigvi, an AI-driven revenue platform for the car rental sector, has successfully secured €1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round. The investment, led by Helsinki-based venture capital firm Superhero Capital, will fuel the company's product development and international growth. This capital injection aims to help Sigvi scale its innovative solution for a traditionally manual industry.
Addressing Inefficiencies in European Car Rentals
The European travel market is experiencing unprecedented growth, with Eurostat reporting nearly 3.1 billion nights spent in tourist accommodations in 2025. Despite this surge, the car rental experience has lagged significantly in digital transformation, often remaining a cumbersome process. Many travelers still face paper contracts and long queues, highlighting a clear gap for technological innovation.
An AI-Powered Aggregation Model
Sigvi operates by aggregating vehicles from independent fleet operators and private owners rather than maintaining its own fleet. Its proprietary AI engine automates the entire rental lifecycle, from dynamic pricing and bookings to keyless vehicle access. The platform also manages automated inspections, predictive maintenance scheduling, and customer support, creating a seamless operation.
For consumers, this model provides a wide selection of professionally managed vehicles at prices typically 30 percent below traditional international brands. The platform offers a fully digital experience, eliminating the need for physical counters and queues. By utilizing existing second-cycle vehicles, Sigvi also presents a more sustainable alternative to adding new cars to the road.
Fueling Growth and Building Infrastructure
With the new funding, Sigvi plans to significantly enhance its AI automation platform and expand its network. The company has set an ambitious goal to increase its managed vehicle fleet to 2,000 within the next two years. This strategic expansion is designed to establish Sigvi as a key player in the European market.
Vytis Šliažas, CEO and co-founder of Sigvi, emphasized the disconnect between modern travel expectations and the current rental experience. "Travellers expect to book a car as easily as they book accommodation," he stated. "We’re building the AI layer that connects both sides, unlocking cheaper, greener, and fully digital car rental."
Investor confidence is high, with Gytenis Galkis, Partner at Superhero Capital, noting the company's elegant solution to a market inefficiency. "We see a clear path for Sigvi to become the digital infrastructure layer for independent car rental across Europe," Galkis commented. The round also saw participation from prominent angel investors, including Vladas Lašas of the Lithuanian Business Angel Network.
The company initiated its operations in Poland in June 2026, a market that saw significant tourism growth. Currently, Sigvi manages a network of over 200 vehicles, serving a diverse clientele from tourists to long-term renters. This initial launch provides a strong foundation for its planned European expansion.
This €1.2 million pre-seed investment marks a pivotal moment for Sigvi, positioning it to capitalize on the digitalization gap in the car rental industry. By leveraging AI to create a more efficient, affordable, and sustainable model, the company is well-equipped for significant growth. The coming years will be crucial as Sigvi works to scale its platform and redefine the car rental experience across Europe.
