Proposals are reviewed and evaluated for feasibility and impact, and vetted through standard IBM compliance processes. Input is gathered from IBM experts across disciplines such as IBM Consulting, IBM Research, IBM Software, and IBM Corporate Social Responsibility.
• Selection Criteria: Applicants are considered based on their level of support to communities, the feasibility and sustainability of their proposed technology solutions, and their transparency in measurement and reporting, among other factors.
• Support Provided: IBM collaborates with selected organizations to design, develop, and deploy technical solutions. Participants receive access to platforms such as IBM watsonx, Granite AI models, IBM Cloud, the IBM Quantum Platform, and Red Hat open source technologies, along with technical mentorship to build long-term capacity.
• Formal Agreement: Organizations selected to participate must enter into an IBM grant agreement that governs access to IBM technology, services, and resources.

The initiative reflects a belief that science, technology, and innovation can be powerful tools for tackling significant economic and environmental challenges.
