The Harpswell ASEAN Women’s Leadership Summit is an annual program established in 2017. It brings together a cohort of more than 36 young women, aged 25–35, from the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Nepal. This five-month leadership development and professional networking program culminates in a week-long in-person gathering.

In 2026, the summit will expand to include participants from Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea, further strengthening the diversity and regional reach of its community of women leaders.

Program Structure and Schedule

Format: The summit is delivered over five months in a hybrid format, combining virtual learning with an in-person experience.

Virtual Sessions (July – October 2026): Participants engage in twice-monthly, two-hour virtual sessions held outside regular working hours. These sessions focus on inner development, small group discussions, and expert-led conversations on ASEAN-related topics.

In-Person Gathering (October 30 – November 8, 2026): Participants convene in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for a week of collaboration, exploration, and networking. Following five days of cohort activities centered on the Inner Development Goals, participants may also attend IKAT 2026, Harpswell’s inaugural regional gathering for women leaders.

Program Focus and Benefits

Objective: The summit aims to drive positive change in Southeast Asia by building a network of women leaders with a strong understanding of the region and meaningful cross-border relationships.

Curriculum: The program combines lectures, workshops, site visits, and group activities, building on Harpswell’s established leadership curriculum in Cambodia.

Financial Support: Travel, accommodation, and meals for the in-person component are fully covered.

Post-Summit Opportunities: Alumni are eligible to apply for Social Impact Grants following completion of the program.
