The FinTech Innovation Lab Asia-Pacific presents its 2026 accelerator program, an annual initiative run by Accenture in partnership with Hong Kong Cyberport and leading global financial institutions. This program is designed to support and nurture growth-stage FinTech companies by providing access to mentorship, industry expertise, and networking opportunities within the financial services ecosystem.

Key Themes for 2026

• AI Enhanced Productivity & Client Engagement (Front to Back): Focuses on GenAI and agentic AI solutions to improve productivity and client experience. Examples include RM/advisory copilots, contact centre automation, document intelligence, and workflow/ops automation.
• Responsible AI & Model Risk Governance: Centers on governance and controls for GenAI and agentic AI, such as validation, monitoring, explainability, auditability, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop processes. Examples include model risk management, drift monitoring, and policy/guardrail frameworks.
• Digital Trust: Cybersecurity, Fraud/Scam Prevention & Operational Resilience: Addresses cyber defence and resilience for critical operations, including scams, account takeovers, and third-party/supply-chain risk. Examples include threat detection/response, deepfake detection, and vendor risk controls.
• Financial Crime, Regtech, Risk & Compliance Automation: Targets AML/CFT, sanctions, and compliance automation for monitoring, case management, controls testing, and regulatory reporting. Examples include AML analytics, sanctions screening, and reporting data quality testing.
• Future of Money & Payments: Interoperable Rails, Digital Assets & Programmable Money: Explores the modernization of money movement and settlement, including cross-border payments, ISO 20022, tokenisation, and programmable digital money infrastructure. Examples include tokenised deposits and instant payment interlinking.
• Open Finance, Digital Identity & API Ecosystems: Focuses on open APIs, consent-based data sharing, and digital identity rails that enable secure ecosystem partnerships. Examples include API enablement/monitoring, consent management, and identity verification.
• Insurance Transformation (InsurTech): Underwriting, Claims & Distribution: Concentrates on technology that improves core insurance journeys like underwriting, claims, policy administration, and digital distribution. Examples include underwriting automation, claims triage, and embedded insurance enablement.

Selection Criteria

• Impact: The product/solution must be impactful to a client organization.
• Innovation & Uniqueness: The solution should address an unmet market need and be well-differentiated from competitors.
• Leadership: The team must possess a mix of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and entrepreneurial experience.
• Proof of Concept: The solution should have been previously tested with a financial services client, at least as a proof of concept.
• Regional Relevance: Applicants should have a physical presence in Hong Kong or plans to establish one, with ambitions for the wider region.
• Regulatory Compliance: Legal aspects must be considered to ensure compatibility with regulated activities.
• Scalability: The solution must demonstrate potential for scaling with a multi-product and multi-location approach.
• Security: Strong cybersecurity measures and data protection policies aligned with industry standards are required.
• Technology Robustness: The startup must have considered technical integration with financial institution infrastructure through robust APIs or native integration.

Application and Program Timeline

• Applications Open: March 2, 2026
• Applications Close: April 30, 2026
• Shortlist Notification: Shortlisted candidates will be notified by the end of May 2026 with details about Interview Day.
• Interview Day: June 2 & 3, 2026
• Program Begins: September 2026
• Demo Day: Early November 2026

Participation Details

• Equity and Fees: There is no fee or equity stake required to apply or participate in the program.
• Application Process: Successful applicants will be invited to a dedicated Interview Day to pitch and demo their product. Final participants will then be selected to join the 2026 cohort.
• Time Commitment: Senior management is expected to participate in at least 80 percent of the program. The initial two weeks require four to six hours daily for workshops. Subsequently, the commitment averages six to eight hours per week for mentoring and partner meetings.
• Location Requirements: The program can be attended virtually or in person. However, finalists are expected to attend the Welcome Reception and Demo Day in person in Hong Kong.
• Visa Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is available for participants if required.


Applications for the 2026 cohort are now being accepted. This program offers a unique platform for FinTech innovators to refine their solutions and present their progress to an audience of financial institution executives, investors, and journalists during the culminating Demo Day.
