The New Africa Fund has launched the Africa Impact Fundraising (AIF) Grant Program to support NGOs, community-based organizations, and social enterprises across the African continent in developing effective fundraising strategies. This initiative aims to boost organizational sustainability by strengthening skills in donor engagement and financial resource mobilization.


Program Overview

The AIF Grant Program is designed to unfold in phases, starting with virtual learning and culminating in an immersive in-person experience for top performers.

Online Training and Fundraising Challenge

  • All selected participants begin with an online training focused on small-donor fundraising campaigns.
  • Following the training, organizations enter a 30-day fundraising challenge to apply learned strategies in real-time.
  • Top-performing organizations in the challenge are eligible for up to $5,000 in matching funds.

Advanced Training in Kigali, Rwanda

  • Up to 10 high-performing organizations will be invited to a week-long intensive workshop in Kigali.
  • The residency includes advanced modules in:
    • Financial management and budgeting for fundraising
    • Marketing, branding, and storytelling
    • Grant writing and proposal development
    • Donor research and cultivation
    • Individual donor engagement and retention
    • Local fundraising and resource mobilization

Additional Benefits

  • 12 months of free fiscal sponsorship for all participating organizations, with extension potential.
  • Ongoing performance-based fundraising opportunities throughout the program's lifecycle.

Eligibility and Application

  • Open to registered organizations in any of the 55 African Union member states.
  • Required documents include registration proof, an organizational chart, and either an external audit or five months of financial statements.
  • Applications close on 31 July 2025 at 21:00 GMT+1.
