The AIF Grant Program is designed to unfold in phases, starting with virtual learning and culminating in an immersive in-person experience for top performers.
Online Training and Fundraising Challenge
- All selected participants begin with an online training focused on small-donor fundraising campaigns.
- Following the training, organizations enter a 30-day fundraising challenge to apply learned strategies in real-time.
- Top-performing organizations in the challenge are eligible for up to $5,000 in matching funds.
Advanced Training in Kigali, Rwanda
- Up to 10 high-performing organizations will be invited to a week-long intensive workshop in Kigali.
- The residency includes advanced modules in:
- Financial management and budgeting for fundraising
- Marketing, branding, and storytelling
- Grant writing and proposal development
- Donor research and cultivation
- Individual donor engagement and retention
- Local fundraising and resource mobilization

Eligibility and Application
- Open to registered organizations in any of the 55 African Union member states.
- Required documents include registration proof, an organizational chart, and either an external audit or five months of financial statements.
