ACCEND is a Europe-wide initiative focused on building a more connected and robust ecosystem for deep tech scaleups. The project aims to establish new tools, partnerships, and programs that facilitate the cross-border growth of early-stage companies. By collaborating with regional innovation hubs and accelerators, ACCEND is developing long-term support systems that are integrated within local communities while functioning cohesively across Europe, with the ultimate goal of enabling deep tech ventures to scale successfully regardless of their origin.
Who Is ACCEND For?
ACCEND is aimed at deep tech scaleup companies ready to expand across European markets and accelerate their growth trajectory. The programme supports ventures delivering innovative solutions across three key domains:
- Smart Cities
Solutions addressing critical urban systems, including the built environment, mobility, circular economy, education, social services, wellbeing, and healthcare. The focus is on technologies that improve how cities function, increase operational efficiency, and enhance quality of life for residents. - Net Zero Cities
Clean technologies and systemic innovations that contribute to climate neutrality and the transition toward net-zero urban environments. This includes solutions that reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and support sustainable urban transformation. - Regenerative Cities
Deep tech solutions designed to reduce environmental degradation, halt and reverse biodiversity loss, and improve the sustainable management of natural resources. The emphasis is on technologies that go beyond mitigation to actively restore and regenerate ecosystems within and around urban areas.
Programme Format
The ACCEND Accelerator is delivered online by a network of European innovation partner institutions, combining regional expertise with cross-border collaboration. The programme connects participating companies with multiple European innovation ecosystems, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and international exposure.
Through this coordinated approach, companies benefit from structured guidance, access to diverse regional networks, and support designed to facilitate cross-border growth within the European market.
