For startup founders who have successfully validated a product, the AC:RevLab program offers a structured pathway to convert early sales victories into repeatable and scalable growth systems. This intensive six-month initiative is designed to help entrepreneurs master the complexities of early-stage revenue generation, providing the tools and support needed to build momentum without sacrificing time or capital. The program focuses on transforming initial market traction into a robust framework for sustainable business expansion.
Program Support and Resources
• One-on-one mentorship and founder-focused coaching from experienced sales and growth leaders.
• Hands-on support in building essential sales systems, covering everything from prospecting and pipeline management to closing deals.
• Expert-led workshops on critical topics such as go-to-market strategy, lead generation, customer experience, retention, and building a sales team.
• Peer learning groups that provide a collaborative environment for sharing challenges, insights, and maintaining accountability.
• CRM support from HubSpot experts, including access to HubSpot for Startups Tools at a discounted rate.
Course Curriculum
• Revenue Drivers: Covers revenue models, pricing strategies, revenue forecasting, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Sales Funnel Optimization: Focuses on building sales funnels, lead qualification and generation, and conversion strategies.
• Sales Process and Methodology: Details various frameworks of selling, outbound and inbound sales strategies, and SEO.
• Customer Relationships and Retention: Explores customer success strategies, post-sales engagement tactics, and churn reduction techniques.
• Data-Driven Sales and Revenue Analytics: Teaches how to leverage data, conduct A/B testing, and track return on investment (ROI).
• Hiring and Team Structure: Provides guidance on creating a sales culture and effectively hiring and training a sales team.
Eligibility and Founder Commitments
• Geographic Location: Applicants must be based in southern Ontario as defined by FedDev Ontario.
• Corporate Status: Companies must be incorporated in Canada or provide proof of a plan to incorporate within 30 days of the program's start.
• Company Stage: The program is for early-stage companies with an in-market or near-market-ready technology in an economically attractive market.
• Time Commitment: Founders must be able to spend at least 15-20 hours per week working on their startup and commit to attending regularly scheduled in-person workshops and virtual meetings.
• Engagement: Participants are expected to actively engage in the program, utilize available mentor hours, and attend biweekly hybrid meetings.
• Reporting: Founders are required to complete surveys as requested (currently on a quarterly basis) to support reporting to government and funding partners.
Program and Application Details
• Application Status: Applications are open until March 27th.
• Equity and Funding: The Accelerator Centre does not take any equity, allowing founders to retain 100% ownership. The program does not provide non-dilutive funding.
• Cost: AC:RevLab is offered free of charge for eligible startups through the Scale Up Platform, with support from Communitech and the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
• Investment Readiness: A dedicated Investment Readiness pathway is available for suitable companies at no extra cost, typically requiring 4-6 months to complete.
• Cohort Size: Each program cohort accepts approximately 30 companies, though the final number may vary.
AC:RevLab is a component of the FedDev Ontario Scale-Up Platform, delivered by Communitech with corporate sponsorship from HubSpot. The program is dedicated to equipping founders with tactical support, strategic frameworks, and expert guidance to successfully navigate the transition from an early-stage venture to a scalable, revenue-focused enterprise. All final decisions regarding acceptance into the program are made at the sole discretion of The Accelerator Centre.
