Wafacash and Fantastic have entered into a strategic partnership bringing together a leading Moroccan financial services provider and a local super app. The collaboration aims to streamline digital payments for users who rely on quick commerce and home delivery services. By combining Wafacash’s payment infrastructure with Fantastic’s marketplace, the two companies intend to make everyday transactions simpler, more secure, and more inclusive.

A Strategic Partnership for Digital Payments

Under the agreement, Wafacash will power payment solutions integrated directly into the Fantastic platform. Customers, merchants, and delivery partners using Fantastic will gain access to simple and accessible payment options tailored to their daily needs. The partnership is positioned as a step in accelerating the digitalization of local commerce and extending financial services across Morocco.

Fantastic’s Journey as a Moroccan Quick Commerce Pioneer

Fantastic describes itself as Morocco’s first quick marketplace and a Moroccan super app designed to simplify everyday life. Launched in 2024 in Agadir, the startup connects users with nearby grocery stores, restaurants, florists, parapharmacies, and other merchants through a single application with integrated delivery. The company initially built and operated its own dark stores and launched Fantastic Market as an early quick commerce offering before undertaking a major technological overhaul and repositioning.

Bootstrapped Growth and Local Execution

Rather than raising venture capital early, Fantastic chose to bootstrap its growth using its own resources. The founding team argues that this approach has fostered a deep understanding of the market, strong execution discipline, and a business model focused on real value creation. According to the company, it has achieved performance metrics comparable to startups that have raised significant funding, while remaining both profitable and resilient.

About Wafacash

Wafacash, led by managing director Abdesslam Bouirig, is a Moroccan financial services company specializing in cash management and money transfers. Established in 1991 as a subsidiary of Attijariwafa Bank Group, it is widely recognized as a market leader in international remittances in Morocco. The company offers domestic and cross-border transfers, mobile payments with no management fees, currency exchange, and nationwide cash payment channels.

Advancing Financial Inclusion and Local Commerce

Both partners present the collaboration as a contribution to financial inclusion and the modernization of neighborhood services. By embedding Wafacash’s payment capabilities into Fantastic’s ecosystem, the partnership aims to bring formal financial tools closer to everyday transactions carried out by households, merchants, and couriers. This approach supports the gradual shift from cash-heavy habits to digital payments that are traceable, secure, and better adapted to emerging consumer behaviors.

Expansion Plans and Fintech Ambitions

Fantastic is preparing to extend its services beyond Agadir to additional major Moroccan cities, including a metropolitan market that will test the robustness of its model. The company emphasizes that it does not expand simply to mark new locations on a map, but to build a meaningful presence that creates value for local communities. In parallel, Fantastic has signaled a move into fintech, highlighting strategic partnerships and new financial services as a natural evolution of its platform.

A Foundation for Future Collaboration

The partnership with Wafacash comes after months of building operational foundations, validating Fantastic’s business model, and strengthening relationships with customers and partners. As investors in Morocco and abroad increasingly show interest in the startup, the company presents this agreement as evidence that it can scale through alliances as well as capital. For Wafacash, the collaboration offers an avenue to reach younger, digitally native users and to embed its services more deeply into everyday digital journeys.

The Wafacash and Fantastic partnership aligns an established financial institution with an emerging Moroccan super app in the country’s digital economy. Together, they aim to digitize local commerce, expand access to modern payment tools, and support a more inclusive financial ecosystem. As Fantastic continues its expansion and Wafacash broadens its digital footprint, the alliance is set to play a growing role in how Moroccans shop, pay, and interact with local services.
