Verse, an energy infrastructure platform, has secured $54 million in an oversubscribed Series B funding round to address critical power shortages in the AI industry. Led by Bessemer Venture Partners with strategic backing from NVIDIA, the capital will launch Dispatch Intelligence. This new solution helps AI data centers get online years faster by bypassing lengthy grid interconnection queues.


Addressing the AI Power Bottleneck

The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence has created an unprecedented power demand that existing electrical grids cannot meet. Data center developers now face interconnection delays of five to seven years, trapping an estimated $500 billion in yearly revenue. This power bottleneck has become the primary limiting factor for continued AI growth and innovation.

Verse offers a unique solution by orchestrating on-site battery storage to manage a data center's energy consumption. This approach presents the facility to the grid as a flexible load, which can accelerate interconnection approvals significantly. Crucially, this is achieved without throttling compute performance, ensuring AI workloads run at full capacity without interruption.

Strategic Backing and Key Partnerships

The investment from NVIDIA signifies more than just financial support; it is a powerful industry endorsement for Verse's technology. The AI giant is integrating Verse's software directly into its DSX AI Factory reference design, its blueprint for building gigascale data centers. This alignment suggests Verse's power management is critical for future AI infrastructure.

To deliver a comprehensive solution, Verse has partnered with Calibrant Energy, a provider of on-site energy projects. Calibrant will own and install the physical battery systems, offering a zero-capital expenditure model for data center developers. Verse’s Aria™ platform then provides the intelligent software layer to manage these assets, creating a seamless full-stack offering.

A New Model for Data Center Energy

The company's core platform, Aria™, already provides clients with a unified view of their complex energy portfolios. Dispatch Intelligence builds on this by automating behind-the-meter assets to optimize power access and delivery. This integrated system accelerates deployment and delivers cost efficiencies and long-term price stability in volatile energy markets.

Seyed Madaeni, CEO of Verse, emphasized that the race for AI is now a race for power. He explained that unlike approaches requiring slower operations, Verse’s solution maintains full performance while presenting a flexible load to the grid. This allows operators to skip the queue without compromising the computational power essential for modern AI.

Future Outlook and Industry Impact

With the new financing, Verse plans to accelerate product development and deployment to meet escalating industry demand. The company aims to bring more than 100 new sites online within the next twelve months. It also intends to significantly expand the scale of on-site battery capacity under its management, solidifying its market position.

Lindsey Li of Bessemer Venture Partners noted that Verse is building essential technology for a power-constrained world. She highlighted that the company's platform now offers a complete solution with Calibrant Energy. This helps developers bring new capacity online faster and more cost-effectively, addressing a key industry challenge.


Verse's $54 million funding, combined with its alliances with NVIDIA and Calibrant, positions it to solve the AI industry's power crisis. By enabling data centers to bypass gridlock without sacrificing performance, Verse is accelerating infrastructure deployment.
