Verde Resources, a leader in sustainable infrastructure, has announced a strategic collaboration with leading carbon removal certifier, Isometric. This partnership aims to certify and commercialize engineered biochar used in Verde’s innovative BioAsphalt™ technology. The initiative seeks to transform global road infrastructure into a network of measurable, long-term carbon sinks, generating high-quality carbon credits.

A Strategic Alliance for Carbon Removal

The alliance aligns Verde’s infrastructure-based carbon removal model with Isometric's scientifically rigorous certification protocols. This ensures that every carbon credit generated represents one ton of carbon dioxide verifiably removed from the atmosphere. The collaboration establishes a new standard for accountability in the rapidly growing carbon removal industry.

Verde’s proprietary BioAsphalt™ technology integrates engineered biochar directly into road construction materials. This process effectively transforms everyday infrastructure into a durable and long-term storage medium for captured carbon. Beyond sequestration, the technology also delivers significant performance and sustainability benefits for modern road building.

Ensuring High-Integrity Certification

Isometric’s certification relies on its comprehensive Biochar Production and Storage Protocol, which mandates strict feedstock criteria and lifecycle accounting. The protocol quantifies durability, allowing biochar to be certified for storage periods ranging from 200 to over 1,000 years. This high standard ensures the permanence of the carbon removal being claimed.

To meet these stringent requirements, Verde’s supply chain is undergoing a thorough verification process. Its U.S. partner, Biochar Solutions LLC, has already undergone an audit at its California facility. Verde’s own BioFraction™ biochar facility in Borneo is currently undergoing the same rigorous audit and verification.

The certification process is enhanced by Isometric’s AI-powered platform, Certify, which streamlines data collection and validation. This technology uses automated checks and an Open API to enable continuous data submission and faster issuance of certificates. It effectively bridges the gap between complex scientific standards and scalable commercial operations.

Paving the Way for Global Commercialization

This collaboration is a critical catalyst for Verde’s commercial partnership with Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. With a reliable supply of certified biochar, the companies can now scale the deployment of BioAsphalt™ across North America. This sets the stage for future expansion into global markets through Ergon's extensive network.

The partnership also advances Verde’s broader strategy to license its Net Zero infrastructure blueprint worldwide. Beginning with Singapore, the company aims to create a replicable model for governments and private partners to build carbon-sequestering roads. This approach leverages existing asphalt infrastructure for rapid and capital-efficient scaling.

The resulting Isometric-certified carbon removal credits are designed to meet the highest standards of quality and transparency. These high-integrity credits are expected to be transacted on leading global carbon exchanges. This will support market liquidity and encourage broader institutional investment in infrastructure-based carbon removal solutions.

This landmark partnership between Verde Resources and Isometric marks a pivotal moment for both the infrastructure and carbon removal sectors. By embedding scientific rigor and verification into road construction, the collaboration creates a scalable and verifiable climate solution. It paves the way for a future where everyday infrastructure plays an active role in achieving global net-zero emissions goals.
