Unacademy co-founders Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini have launched Longshot Capital, a new venture capital fund. The fund targets ₹700 crore for artificial intelligence and deep tech startups. It has already secured early commitments from outside investors.

Commitments so far

Longshot Capital has secured about ₹300 crore in commitments. The fund is still working toward its full target. That capital will back initial investments in technology startups.

Founder shift

Munjal and Saini built Unacademy, an edtech company. Unacademy was acquired by upGrad less than two months ago. They are now moving from company building to venture investing.

Investment approach

The founders plan to use their own operating experience. They want to spot fresh talent and game-changing ideas. Longshot Capital will support the next wave of tech innovation.

Longshot Capital plans a first close by January 2027. That milestone will clear the way for the fund's initial investments. Munjal and Saini are now focused on completing the fundraise.
