These high-profile appointments mark the beginning of a new chapter for the Singapore-based fintech company. Thunes is focused on scaling its proprietary Direct Global Network and sharpening its technological edge through strategic innovation. The new leadership is expected to drive this vision forward with significant momentum.

The company aims to solidify its position as a world-leading global payments infrastructure network. Their combined experience will be instrumental in underpinning the company's commercial and technological strategies.

Driving Innovation with a Technology Veteran

As the new CTPO, Guy Duncan will spearhead Thunes’ technology and product functions. His primary mandate involves building high-velocity teams and deploying artificial intelligence across the company's network. This focus on AI is intended to solve real-world friction in global money movement for its members.

Duncan brings world-class experience in digital transformation and rapid scaling from his previous roles. He served as CTO at fintech unicorn Tide, where he scaled the platform from 50,000 to over one million members. His extensive background also includes leading BMW’s digital transformation across 64 markets.

Strengthening Financial Foundations for Expansion

Parvinder Bhatia will lead the company’s global finance organization in his capacity as CFO. He is tasked with partnering with the leadership team to guide the company as it scales its payments infrastructure. His role will be critical in supporting Thunes through its next period of significant international expansion.

Bhatia joins from bunq, Europe’s first AI-powered bank, where he also served as CFO. With over 24 years of experience across fintech and private equity, he has a strong track record of scaling finance organizations. His expertise in operational transformation will be a key asset for Thunes.

Executive Vision for a Global Future

Thunes' CEO, Peter De Caluwe, expressed his delight in welcoming the new executives to the team. De Caluwe also noted that Bhatia’s financial track record makes him the ideal partner for their strategy.

The new appointees share the company's forward-looking vision for innovation and growth.
