Terrahex has moved closer to launching its first computing node in southern Nigeria after receiving a second shipment of ASIC mining machines at its processing hub in Florida. The first batch of hardware is now ready for shipment to Nigeria ahead of a December 2026 go-live target. The company is developing modular high-performance computing infrastructure in frontier energy markets and says the delivery marks a transition from preparation to physical deployment.
Preparing Hardware for Nigerian Conditions
Before the ASICs leave the United States, every unit will be inspected, conditioned, certified and tested at the Florida quality assurance facility. Technical partner M3 Miner Repair supports the hub, which is preparing the machines for high heat, humidity and seasonal Harmattan dust in Nigeria. Terrahex says this process removes risk from the build and gives the initial 9MW node a stronger technical baseline before equipment reaches the site.
Containers and Power Equipment
Terrahex has placed orders for medium-voltage and low-voltage equipment to support its deployment timeline in Nigeria. The company has also ordered air-cooled 40-foot mobile data centre containers from Belgian manufacturer Datacubes, with each unit able to house up to 356 miners and electrical capacity of up to 1,300 kW. Datacubes founder Toon Craenen said the containers are designed for tough environments and include filtration, ventilation and monitoring to maintain uptime in heat, humidity and dust.
A Modular Path to Compute
The company is building a modular alternative to hyperscale data centre models in markets where power access, bandwidth and cost make conventional approaches difficult to replicate. Terrahex places high-performance computing infrastructure close to underutilized generation, turning available power into productive compute capacity. Bitcoin mining is the first commercial workload, while AI compute forms part of the longer-term infrastructure plan as the company scales.

Founder and CEO OluMayowa Ogunnusi said Nigeria does not need to wait for hyperscale data centre economics before participating in the compute economy. Board Chair Patrick J. Sweeney added that secure supply and disciplined execution create a credible path to 100MW in Nigeria. Director Dayo Okusami emphasized the importance of counterparty quality, clear terms and international due diligence in frontier energy markets.
From US Hub to Nigerian Site
The current phase involves shipping the certified ASICs from Florida to southern Nigeria, where the Datacubes containers will receive and house the fleet. Terrahex has not disclosed the specific location of the 9MW node, but the company says the containers, power equipment and hardware are now aligned to the same deployment timeline. This integrated logistics chain is intended to reduce delays and ensure equipment integrity from the US hub through to installation.
Scaling Toward 100MW
Terrahex aims to exceed 100MW of computing capacity over the next 24 months, with the 9MW node serving as the first stage of that expansion. Additional hardware supply and agreements with energy partners are expected to support the wider pipeline under the company's Power-for-Equity model. The December 2026 go-live date remains the first major operational milestone for the project.
With hardware secured, a US testing and certification hub in place, and purpose-built containers and power equipment on order, Terrahex now holds the core building blocks for its first node in Nigeria. The company is moving from procurement and preparation into physical deployment. If the initial node performs as planned, Terrahex expects to use it as a foundation for scaling modular computing infrastructure across Nigeria beyond 100MW.
