Swedish startup Strawberry brought its AI browser out of beta with version 1.0. The company has raised $6 million led by General Catalyst and EQT Ventures. Its assistants, called companions, help non-technical workers complete browser tasks.

New in version 1.0

Companions now have customizable colors and faces. Companion Plaza gives them a space to gather between jobs. Users can also record Google Meet, Zoom, and Teams calls without a bot joining.

Company and backers

Strawberry was founded in 2023 and has a team of 12. Its co-founders are Charles Maddock, Sebastian Thunman, and Arian Hanifi. Investors include founders from Lovable, Supabase, and Hugging Face.

How companions work

Users can hire prebuilt companions for sales, recruiting, customer support, and marketing. Companions learn how a team works and share that knowledge with colleagues. They pause for approval before sending emails or changing records.

Strawberry offers a free plan and paid subscriptions at $20, $85, and $250 per month. The browser is available for macOS and Windows. The company plans to scale across Europe and the US.
